Randy Rich


Randy Rich is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana with 25 years of experience as TradeWinds Software’s Lead Developer, CEO, and President. During this time he has become adept at bringing projects from conception to production. His thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles has also allowed him to create unrivaled and industry leading software systems for decades.

Education

Randy attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA where he studied Accounting. He has also completed software industry training in Washington DC, Huston, St. Augustine and New Orleans. During these training courses he furthered his knowledge of Oracle Database design, development, management, implementation, and administration; Delphi management, development, and database development; Advanced Delphi and Java techniques; and advanced PC troubleshooting. Through a combination of these training activities and self-study, Randy has become proficient in the following computer languages:

Experience

In 1988 Randy founded TradeWinds Software as a sole-proprietorship and began selling software for grain elevators and rice mills throughout Louisiana and Texas.  Over the years that system has been re-written three times, first in DOS, then in Windows and finally using Oracle.  Today it is complete cost accounting system for any form of food manufacturer and packaging company.

In 1990 he wrote a fund accounting and budgeting system for the United Way of Southwest Louisiana that tied their 30+ agencies together.

In 1996 the company was incorporated and became TradeWinds Software Corporation.  During that same year they were contracted by the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Elderly affairs to write a statewide program for their 66+ agencies; which captured all services provided at each agency and transmitted the data to Baton Rouge where it was automatically compiled and reported to Congress.

In 1998 TradeWinds wrote a system for United Way agencies to capture their annual fundraising campaigns which was distributed to 75+ agencies in 27 states.   During this time he attended school in Washington DC and received certifications as an Oracle DBA and Developer.

During the 1990s Randy served on the board of directors of several non-profit agencies including the Literacy Council of Southwest Louisiana and Family & Youth Counseling agency.  He also volunteered much of his time to help non-profit agencies and won several awards for his service.

Certifications

Randy holds industry certifications as a Certified Oracle DBA, Certified Oracle Developer, and an A+ Computer Technician.

Community

Randy resides in Shreveport La with his wife Tina and their 3 toy rat terriers.  They are both active in their church and enjoy spending time with their 5 children and 13 grandchildren.  Randy enjoys bike riding, reading, playing the guitar and drums when not traveling.
